The Canadian Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship Program (PGP) is set to open again on January 2nd 2015 and will have a Max Cap of 5000.
The CAP will fill quickly and applications will not be accepted before the opening date.
To qualify Candidate in Canada must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Exceed the minimum necessary income level for this program by submitting notices of assessment issued by the Canadian Revenue Agency in support of their sponsorship. Candidate must also demonstrate they have met the minimum necessary income level for three consecutive years.
- The Candidate must sign an undertaking to repay any provincial social assistance benefits paid to the sponsor and accompanying family members.
Remember the choice of Super Visa still exists if one doesn’t make the Cap.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada has now received 5,000 complete applications and the new intake into the PGP program will again pause until next year (Jan. 2015). The government will continue to move forward with the Action Plan for Faster Family Reunification by reducing backlogs, improving processing times and reuniting families more quickly. For
