Manitoba PNP

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) nominates people who are assess as having a strong connection to Manitoba and sufficient skills, education and training, work experience, English proficiency, and adaptability to make an immediate and ongoing contribution to the provincial community and labour market.

The following are the different immigration programs currently available under the provincial Manitoba PNP.

Manitoba PNP Temporary Worker

If you have been working in Manitoba continuously for at least six months with a valid work permit and your employer offers you a permanent job, you are eligible to apply to the Manitoba PNP with priority processing provided:

  • The offer of long-term, full-time employment must be from the same Manitoba employer for whom you have been working full-time for at least six months.
  • With your Manitoba PNP application you must submit: a copy of the job-offer letter, specifying salary/wage and details of the position, signed by your employer on company letterhead, as well as a copy of your valid work permit.
  • You must have all qualifications for the position including training/education and any license or certification required in Manitoba.
  • You must have the English or French language proficiency to fulfill the job duties.
  • Your connection to Manitoba must be stronger than ties you may have to another Canadian province.
  • You must demonstrate in a Settlement Plan your intention and plan to live, work and establish your work and family life in Manitoba as a permanent resident.

Manitoba PNP Working Graduates

If after graduation you have been working in Manitoba continuously for at least six months with a valid work permit and your employer offers you a permanent job, you are eligible to apply to the Manitoba PNP with priority processing provided:

  • You attended an authorized education or training program at a public, or registered private vocational, post-secondary institution in Manitoba.
  • Your program was full-time and at least one academic year in duration.
  • You successfully completed your program and were awarded a diploma, degree or certificate.
  • You have been continuously working for at least six month for the employer who has offered you a permanent full-time job.
  • You have a valid post-graduation work permit from Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
  • Your connection to Manitoba is stronger than ties you may have to another Canadian province.
  • You can demonstrate in a Settlement Plan your intention and plan to live, work and establish your work and family life in Manitoba as a permanent resident.
  • You have all qualifications and the English or French language proficiency to fulfill the duties of your job.

Manitoba PNP Recruitment Missions

Is a way for overseas skilled workers to establish the Connection to Manitoba required to be eligible to apply to the Manitoba PNP.

Generally, to be selected for a personal interview at a recruitment mission you must:

  • be age 21 to 45
  • be a national (passport holder) of the country in which the Manitoba PNP is holding its recruitment mission
  • have completed at least a one-year, post-secondary education or training program for which you received a diploma, certificate or degree
  • have at least two years of full-time work experience in the past five years
  • have job-ready English proficiency demonstrated by scoring at least 5 on a recent IELTS test
  • have at least two years of full-time work experience in the past five years
  • have the genuine intention and ability to economically establish and settle in the Canadian province of Manitoba as a permanent resident demonstrated, in part, with a Settlement Plan

Manitoba Experience

Past experience in Manitoba as a temporary foreign worker or international student is a way for overseas skilled workers to establish the Connection to Manitoba required to be eligible to apply to the Manitoba PNP.

Past employment in Manitoba

If in the past you worked full-time in Manitoba for at least six months you may apply to the Manitoba PNP.

  • Required document: Proof of your Manitoba Employment, ex: letter of reference from employer AND copy of work permit issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC)

Past education in Manitoba

If in the past you went to school in Manitoba as an international student you may apply to the Manitoba PNP.

You must have attended and completed an academic or training program in Manitoba, excluding language studies. Refer to the Manitoba PNP Points Worksheet to see how many points you may be awarded for your level and length of education in Manitoba.

  • Required document: Proof of your Manitoba Education, ex: academic transcripts and certificate/degree, AND copy of study permit issued by CIC

Manitoba Supporter

A “Manitoba Supporter” is the resident family or friend of an applicant who serves as an overseas skilled worker’s social connection to Manitoba. A Manitoba Supporter supports an applicant’s plan for settling and finding a job in Manitoba.

A Manitoba Supporter must be:

  • able to provide documentation proving they reside and are established in Manitoba and have been living in the province continuously for at least one year (ex: copy of Manitoba Health Card)
  • a Canadian citizen or permanent resident (ex: copy of Permanent Resident Card)
  • able to demonstrate sufficiently close ties to the applicant and to Manitoba
  • able to demonstrate that any applications they previously supported resulted in successful, permanent economic establishment in Manitoba
  • able to support the applicant’s Settlement Plan, demonstrated in part by submitted a completed and signed Settlement Plan Part 2 (FORM: SPP2e) including scanned identity/proof of residence documents:
    1. A friend or distant relative must not be currently supporting the settlement of another Manitoba PNP applicant, nominee or person under another Canadian immigration program.Note: This condition applies to your household. For example: If you are supporting an application, your spouse cannot be the supporter of another application.
    2. A close relative may support more than one close family applicant at a time − provided the supporter satisfactorily demonstrates the ability to do so.
  • For close relative, both the applicant and his or her Manitoba Supporter must provide documents proving their familial relationship

Manitoba PNP Business Immigration

The Manitoba PNP for Business allows Manitoba to recruit and nominate qualified business people from around the world who have the intent and ability to move to Manitoba and establish, purchase a business or become partners in an existing business.

The Manitoba PNP for Business accelerates the immigration process by providing a Nomination Certificate to you which allows for faster processing by the Government of Canada of your immigration application. Through the Manitoba PNP the Province of Manitoba is committed to help you and your family settle successfully, identify business opportunities and establish your business or farm in the province.
